Overview
What it does
Vercel MCP is Vercel’s official remote server at mcp.vercel.com. It uses OAuth: you add the URL to your client, sign in to Vercel in the browser and grant the connection access to the teams you choose. Your existing Vercel permissions still apply. It is available on all Vercel plans, and Vercel only accepts clients it has reviewed, including Claude Code, Claude Desktop, ChatGPT, Codex CLI, Cursor, VS Code, Windsurf and Gemini CLI.
The tools reference lists more than 200 catalogue tools grouped into areas such as Deployments, Projects, Domains and DNS, Environment Variables, Observability, Feature Flags, Sandboxes and Web Analytics. The most used ones list deployments, inspect a deployment, fetch protected preview URLs and read runtime logs and errors, which makes it handy for finding out why a build or route failed. The add-mcp command (npx add-mcp https://mcp.vercel.com) can configure several installed clients in one step.

Install Vercel MCP server in your app
You need:
- A Vercel account
- A Vercel-approved MCP client

- vercel: sign in when the app asks (run /mcp in Claude Code).
Project root. Commit it to share the servers with your team; each person sets the variables in their own shell.

Want it alongside other servers? Open Vercel MCP in the MCP config generator and add the rest; it writes one file per app. The snippets follow the setup in the server’s README, checked on 2026-10-14.
Before you install
- The connection gets the same access as your Vercel user for the teams you grant, including write tools that create deployments, change domains and environment variables, and make purchases from the Billing and Purchases tools.
- Vercel warns that prompt injection from other tools could leak deployment logs, so review which other servers share the session.
- A remote server sees whatever the assistant sends it. Sign in with the narrowest access the service offers. See how to choose a safe server.
Why it’s listed
Why we list it
The vendor’s own hosted server, with OAuth, per-team consent and the widest Vercel coverage of any option.
