About AI Dev Toolkit

AI Dev Toolkit is a free collection of the small utilities AI developers keep searching for, built and maintained by Tahir Nazir.

Who builds it

I’m Tahir Nazir, a senior AI engineer and full-stack lead based in Punjab, Pakistan. For more than five years I’ve shipped AI-powered web products to production for over 20 international clients: RAG pipelines, agentic workflows, LLM integrations with Claude, OpenAI and Groq, and MCP tooling for Claude Code and Cursor.

I use AI coding agents every day, and I build tools for them in the open. ContextZero, my MIT-licensed VS Code extension, manages the rules, memory and skills that agents like Claude Code, Cursor and Kiro read for each project (CLAUDE.md, AGENTS.md and friends). The configuration generators on this site come from that same work.

I also write about the problems I run into at its-tahir.com. My posts on Claude Code error messages turned out to be some of the most-visited pages there. That told me developers want quick, specific answers, and this toolkit exists to give them.

You can see my work on GitHub, LinkedIn and my portfolio.

I also built AniTrace, a free tool that finds the anime, episode and timestamp from a screenshot.

Why this toolkit exists

Working with large language models means doing the same small jobs again and again: counting tokens, checking whether a prompt fits a context window, estimating what a feature will cost per month, writing an MCP config for a new editor, or working out whether a model will run on a particular GPU. The answers are spread across provider docs, pricing pages and forum threads, and they change every few weeks.

AI Dev Toolkit puts those jobs in one place. Each tool answers one question well, explains how it got the answer, and links to the next tool you’re likely to need.

How it works

  • Free, with no sign-up. Every tool is free to use. The site is meant to be paid for by advertising, never by selling data.
  • Private by default. Tools run in your browser. Text you paste into a token counter or JSON repairer is processed on your device and isn’t uploaded.
  • Your key, your bill. Tools that call an AI model use your own API key, sent straight from your browser to the provider. It never reaches this site’s server. The privacy policy explains exactly how keys are handled.
  • Dated and sourced. Prices and model limits come from public sources, refresh daily, and show when they were last checked. The methodology page explains how.

Independence

AI Dev Toolkit is an independent project. It isn’t affiliated with or endorsed by Anthropic, OpenAI, Google, Meta, Mistral or any other AI provider. Product names are used only to say which product a tool works with.
